Inhaling my babies

One of favorite moments with my babies is inhaling them as we snuggle.
To say "smelling them" just doesn't do it justice.
I love that amazing newborn smell that slowly morphs into baby, toddler, then stinky kid smell.
As kids get older that smell changes, my sister Sarah would say "they smell like recess."

Mack turns two in a few weeks and I can hardly believe that soon I wont have a baby anymore. But right now he still needs me, he is my constant shadow, and wants frequent hugs and snuggles.

As I scoop him up I can't help but press my nose against his little head and neck and just breath in his very essence. His baby smells are turning into the sweaty toddler smells that only a mother could love. Its like his last little pieces of babyhood are melting away, but I can still see them, feel them, and smell them.

I'm really going to miss that.
