A Year in the Life (by Dan)

One year ago today was like most any other nice Summer day. The sun was shining, the clouds were in moderation, the weather wasn't too hot, it was as great a day as you could ask for to visit the Manti Temple and join hands, lives and eternity with the love of my life.

As I ponder the last year, I am amazed. I mean, seriously, has it been just a year?! Think about it, a LOT has happened since last June the 28th! That coupled with the fact that Pam and I didn't just meet last year, it feels like this was the life I was born into. I love my wife, I love calling Pam my wife and I love that Pam, my wife, is part of my life.

As most know, this was not just a typical marriage, not by a long shot. This marriage was far better because it came with 2 amazing kids. Toby and Sadie have made an amazing difference in my life, and I am a far better man because of these 2 great kids! Toby and Sadie are just the best you could ask for in kids. They never argue, they always mind their parents and of course they never make messes around the house.... okay, maybe not THAT well behaved, but far beyond making Pam and I proud every single day.

Toby is a different boy today than he was a year ago. He completed the 2nd grade, he is excelling at Cub Scouts and loves to have a good time. Toby has made so many personal leaps and bounds that it is phenomenal to think about all this happening in just 1 year.

One thing that has not, and hopefully never will change is Toby's heart. Toby has a huge capacity for love, sometimes it's beyond my understanding, and I know exactly where he gets that, he gets that from Mom, from Pam, from my wife.

Sadie too has become a far different little girl from that year ago. Pam and I were looking at pictures the other night and it's so CRAZY how much older she looks from just a year ago! She has her girly hair back and she is much taller and finally growing into her skin. Sadie graduated from Pre-School and is really excited about Kindergarten.

One thing that has not, and hopefully never will change about Sadie is her amazing capacity for learning. Sadie is about the brightest 5 year old you could ever meat and she is just about always in a feeding frenzy of knowledge, so be careful what kind of example you set around her! And I know where she gets that curiosity, that amazing learning capacity (aside from spelling ;)) she gets that from Mom, from Pam, from my wife.

Pam has an amazing effect on everyone around her. Pam's love and caring for others feelings is nothing short of a miracle. There is just no describing it, it's like describing Christ's love, there aren't words for love like that, there isn't gratitude enough for love like that, I am just a better person for having her in my life.

Another amazing aspect of Pams personality is her complete selflessness. She doesn't just have these great gifts, she applies them and shares them and sets an amazing example for everyone she meets. Anyone spending any amount of time with Pam is a far better person for it.

Pam, you are my world, you are my life, you are my love, you are amazing. I love you, I wish I could put in to words the love I have for you. Thank you for your spirit and your love.

Memories at the top of my mind today: (for Pam's consideration)
- Manti Temple
- Temple Park (Now and Then)
- Bridal Veil Falls
- Sears Call Center
- Apollo 13
- Your Parents Culdesac
- Aspen, Colorado
- Vernal, Utah
- K-Mart

To a year. To our life. To Eternity... and Beyond!

Happy Anniversary Pam!

Live, from Vernal, UT:
-Dan
