Well, at our weekly doctors visit last Friday, Pam and I decided to schedule a VBAC for Monday August 24th. We marked it down on the calendar and finally with a target in mind began to prepare ourselves as best as possible.
I have to say that as a whole, most of these pregnancy rumors about midnight cravings and all kinds of strange behaviors are lost on Pam. I had the dream husbands job of just being there to support her and not really being asked to do much at all. Pam is just that awesome!
Well, yesterday (Saturday) we hit our first Pregnancy St
range Behaviorism, and boy was it a doozy. Pam was hit by the sudden and powerful urge that ornithologist's refer to as "Nesting". We spent all day (meaning we were up until after 11 on our hands and knees) scrubbing the house to get everything clean and orderly for "when the baby arrives".
Well, after all that surprise, surprise, Pam spent most of the night having minor contractions.
This morning Pam woke up early and headed to her Primary meeting with the bishop, were of course they gave her the normal insightful hints to induce labor. Things like jumping on the trampoline you know, scientific methods of course.
A couple of days ago Pam ran out of her Prilosec OTC which has been her lifeline throughout this pregnancy, she had a couple of Zantac's left which are prescription that didn't agree with her stomach, so today she decides that this is too much stomach pain to deal with today and sends me to the store for Prilosec.
I head out and grab the box and I am in the checkout line giving them my credit card and my phone rings. When I saw it was Pam calling I figured I would have to walk back in for something else she needed. This is how the conversation went:
Me: Hey babe.
Pam: Um, I think my water just broke.
Me: What?! I'm on my way out the door right now!
I have never gotten home from Albertsons that fast! I hit the sport button and the whole 9 yards, it's a good thing Pam wasn't in the car, let's put it that way.
Long story short, we headed to the hospital, they started her on the drip and she wasn't progressing very quickly so we ended up just having a C-Section.
At 7:45pm weighing in at 6 lbs 15 oz and measuring in at 20.5" our new baby girl has arrived!
We don't have a name yet, but that will follow along with many more flattering images of baby. For now, here in the hospital, here is what I can offer up.

For now, we love you baby girl! No matter what mommy names you! ;)
