This past week we received a call from Sadie's kindergarten teacher. She let us know that there was a confirmed case of swine flu in Sadie's class, not only that but it was the little boy who sits right next to Sadie! After some deliberation we decided to keep Sadie in school this week as the boy was at home on quarantine.
So Friday starts out like pretty much every other day, we get Toby and Sadie off to school and head out for our newly traditional Friday date-lunch, which is my favorite part of the week :) Upon returning home, I started to feel a little "off". Not really sick per say, but definitely not 100% well suffice it to say, I declined rapidly and ended up heading into the emergency room at about 1:00am.
(Random picture inserted by Pam - The picture of Dan sick and in tears was no fun "Love you hub, get better quick")
Prior to leaving for the hospital I had received a Priesthood blessing from my friend and another neighbor. By the time I got to the hospital I was feeling much much better.
My symptoms were: Hot/Cold spells, All over body aches, Headache, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Shortness of breath, extreme abdominal pain. The last reason was the item responsible for my visit to the hospital. For about 3 hours I had just this horrible pain in the middle of my stomach. Being brought to tears I finally told Pam that I needed help.
All my influenza tests at the hospital came back negative, both swine and otherwise, and the doctor didn't really know what to offer. I was just thankful to not have swine flu, I couldn't bear passing that on to Andie.
Any way, I don't even know why I'm making this post, but Pam and the kids are at church, where I should be myself, but I am still not back up and running 100% yet. Pam has been such a source of strength this weekend, I feel horrible that she has been having to run everything around the house and cater to me as well.
I love you Pam, thank you!
Now back to the couch...
