So, now that we all have dental insurance... we set up a visit to the dentist. I can't even describe how awesome it is to be able to do something about the teeth problems I've had for years.

Dan had been in recently, so just the kids and I were checked. Sadie has great teeth, so she just needed a cleaning. (Yea!)
Toby was terrified and hard to work with, when the dentist left the room I was trying to convince him that it wouldn't be bad, and he looked up at me and said "but what is he gonna do about this?" Then he opened his mouth and showed us he had a molar half broken off and at least one other badly cracked.
Arg! Looks like Toby gets to deal with the same soft enamel I have. After a quick exam the family dentist filled out a referral to a pediatric dentist, with a note that he will need to be sedated to work on his teeth. And that he needs the broken one extracted. (He has already had one baby root canal.)
The good news was, that the front tooth that Toby lost as a baby, now has an adult tooth on the x rays that looks healthy and should come in soon. Yea! Toby may have his 1st Christmas with two front teeth!!
I have been back to the dentist several times the last month working on my treatment plan. After one really bad experience with *Lortab, and having met my insurance max for the year, my teeth are pretty much stable for now. When our insurance resets at the beginning of the year, I will go back for 4 (maybe 5 ) crowns. Good Times!
*(Turns out I'm allergic to Lortab, does nothing for the pain, but does make me very sick for 2 days. The Flu in pill form.)
P.S. Yes, Toby brushes, flosses, uses a fluoride rinse, and chews a prescription fluoride tablet before bed. We are going to seal his adult teeth as they come in and hope it helps.

Question - do you like your dentist? I've had the insurance for 8 years and never been (I HATE THEM)...but I do need to find one.
ahh the memories.
