Catching up... Toby Turns 8 !!!!!!!! (by: Pam)

On December 19th our Toby turned 8 !
What a fun Birthday! I can't believe how fast he is growing up.  8 years ago my biggest question about this birthday would have been..."Will he still be crying??" Thankfully he is not!
He wanted a Soccer Cake for his birthday

His Birthday fell on the last day of school before Christmas break, so that was fun to go to school and party all day. Then that night Collin came and slept over. And the following day we took Collin and a couple of buddies, (Jacob Hill, and Joseph Bunker) to Chuck-E-Cheese for lunch and games. It was a lot of fun.
(Except for the part when Chuck-E-Cheese himself came out and Sadie went into panic mode.)

The most exciting part of turning 8 is that Toby choose to be Baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! We were so proud of him! In the above picture Mom was making him try on new dress pants and convincing him to wear a tie.
(Notice I'm falling asleep in the process. My biggest side effect of being pregnant so far is complete exhaustion. But hey, if that's the worst of it, I'm a happy camper.)

Toby choose to be baptized by Dan, and it was an awesome day.
He was really excited that Joel, Jess, and Cassie were able to be there. Debbie and Jessica handled the music. Uncle Brian gave an awesome talk which included giving Toby his very first pocket knife, so that was really fun for Toby! It was a snowy morning, and Oma got in her first car accident on her way, but she was okay and still able to make it just in time for the baptism itself which meant a lot to Toby.
Grandpa Jensen and Grandpa Howard were the witnesses, and were there to make sure things were done right. Which included a second try after Toby's feet popped up during the first try.
Thank you everyone that came and supported us and made this a special day we will never forget!

(The highlight for Sadie was that aunt Leslie made her some cute new hair-bows!
Thank You Leslie!)

Wow, the big 8!! And I'm sad that we missed the big day, but I'm glad that things went well and that you had so much family there. Congratulations Toby!

Happy Birthday Toby! It was really neat to see you get baptized. Did you make that cake Pam? It looks great!
