To fully appreciate the title of this post you will need to watch the following video:
I don't normally post about the books I read, although I do read quite a few books the audiobook way. There are so many books that I love and maybe I am just too easily entertained, but I rarely find a book that I just do not like.
I should mention that The Chronicles of Narnia is most definitely not in this rare category, quite the opposite in fact. I just finished re-reading all 7 Chronicles of Narnia books. I had the urge to see if they still held the magic they did for me in my youth. I still remember getting the box set of paperbacks for Christmas one year and I really loved to read those books back then!
Well, I think this series, for me, is one of those rarities, the kind where you re-visit them years later and not only to they still have that magic, but now that you are quite a different person from 20 years ago, they have something quite, quite new to offer.
Growing up I really appreciated all the fantasy, talking animals, battles and other fun things that C.S. Lewis has to offer, but this time through with just about every book I couldn't help comparing Aslan to Christ.
C.S. Lewis has created this amazing series and it's roots are so deeply tied with the core of the Gospel, that I found myself nearly in tears at the end of the 7th book. If you get a chance, you should read these books and see if you can apply them in this way. Aslan has a perfect love, our saviors love, and it is expressed just about perfectly in my opinion. It is definitely not handed out lightly, and you see how everyone has to do their part to the fullest of their abilities and how just when you have reached the limit, the end of "All You Can" which is often quite a bit more than you could have imagined yourself capable of. Right at that moment He is there to put his hand on your shoulder and help to carry you through the tasks He has given to you.
I hope everyone can read these books, and ponder the love of Aslan, of Christ. What awesome books for great family-friendly reading.

I cried almost through the last half of the 7th book--it was amazing and made me wonder about what it will be like when it is our time.
