We drove out and hiked through a place called Fantasy Canyon. It's a place full of really cool rock formations left behind by an ancient lake, and years of erosion.
When I say "WE" hiked, I should clarify that this round Sadie and mom hiked around a little then went and found a shaded spot to sit and help Sadie paint her ceramic dinosaurs while Toby and Dan braved the heat, and did the real hiking.
There were spots where Dan and Toby found exposed bones showing through the rock walls
I had spent the entire night before coughing, and was a bit beat at this point, but am really glad we took the time to drive out and see this area, I haven't seen anything else like it.
The kids found some pretty cool little rocks to bring home and add to their rock collections.
